They say necessity is the origin of all inventions – that’s true when it comes to designer Novelboy’s double-waisted jeans. 

“I’m 6’4 and more on the slender side, so it’s always a struggle finding pants that fit and are long enough,” said the Manchester-based designer, 22. 

“I would either have to unhem the jeans to give me an inch two or sag them, but I try not to sag.”

“So, instead of leaving good-thrifted denim behind, I put a slimmer waist denim inside of the wider fit denim in a stand-out wash.” 

The construction’s chic while toying with social assumptions and codes. “There is a specific type of person that would look down upon ‘low slung pants.’ I look at this as a middle finger to them 🙂 I still give off a low crotch look, while having my pants ‘appropriately’ around my waist.” 

If only everyone were so novel.
